Bringing edtech to the #MootAU19
The first day of MoodleMoot Australia, we set up the stand ready to greet over 270 registrants coming through the door, and this year we went all out with our “Future of eLearning” showcase. We also brought our Prize Wheel for participants to try out their luck to win spot prizes and a chance to win the grand prize (an Oculus Quest & Half day content design workshop).Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) is the future of eLearning.
The hottest conversation topic with other Moodle™ learning designers and developers was the potential to introduce VR & AR into their courses. The possibility to introduce a faster, more cost-efficient way to avoid workplace risks unites our community to seek out new ways to engage our learners. Using this technology in real-life scenarios allows learners to train in more realistic circumstances, guaranteeing higher retention.

“To give the world the most effective platform for learning” – Moodle’s Vision
eCommerce within your learning management system
We also introduced a simple way to let your learners purchase their desired courses without having to go through a difficult manual process – eCommerce for Learnbook. With this tool, organisations will be able to sell new courses or products without the student having to leave their LMS.Accessibility is a must for your eLearning
Making your course accessible to your learners is not only important for learners with a disability, but also for learners in remote areas with poor internet connections (especially important for eLearning in Australia!).It’s important to remember that you’ve worked hard to build your course; you don’t want to ruin it by not having good accessibility for your learners.Bring on second session of the day for us on Accessibility in @moodle. Great room with over 80 attendees coming together to learn what they can do for your learners! #MootAU19 #accessibility pic.twitter.com/VnbS1UnW5O

Using your learning management system to help you achieve your organisational goals!
Your learning management system can do so much more than you might think. In this session by our General Manager, Sally Matheson, we got to explore the possibilities of how an organisation can save costs, achieve timely results and increase efficiency all through different functionality in the LMS. Training is one of the easiest ways to start. By using the LMS as a training platform enables the organisation to reach a wider audience, safer environment and gives management the ability to track the learner’s journey through to completion – these are some of the reasons why eLearning has become so adaptive for use by organisations around the world.Content is what the masses really want – right now (like… NOW!)
Some organisations are luckier than others. They have more budget, resources and time to develop beautiful custom courses that match everything they need for their learners. While others… Not so much. Working under a tight budget and crushing deadline is what 70% of organisations are experiencing when it comes to content creation. Having a tool that allows you to curate the content you need quicker would be really helpful. With the new partnership between eCreators and Go1, our customers receive instant access to the content library of over 48,000 courses (it’s growing so fast) created by regulated and approved providers. Or, you can choose to bring more creativity into your course by using design tools and applying strategic thinking. Our very own instructional designer wrapped up the last session on Day 3 (to the room of 80+ attendees) with quick expert tips. Our second session of the day by our partner @go1com talking about how you can get access instantly to over 47,000 courses off the shelves! #MootAU19 pic.twitter.com/r7kMFLog39
